Our Nursery Curriculum
Our nursery follows the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, which provides a structured yet flexible approach to early learning and care. The EYFS curriculum is designed to nurture every child’s unique talents, interests, and potential through a balance of structured activities and free play.
Children engage in a variety of experiences that foster their communication skills, physical development, personal and social growth, and early understanding of the world around them. The curriculum is centred around seven key areas of learning:
- Communication and Language: Encouraging children to express themselves and listen to others, building a foundation for literacy and social interaction.
- Physical Development: Supporting children’s movement, coordination, and healthy habits through indoor and outdoor play.
- Personal, Social and Emotional Development: Cultivating confidence, resilience, and positive relationships, helping children feel secure and valued.
- Literacy: Introducing stories, rhymes, mark-making, and early reading and writing skills in an engaging, playful way.
- Mathematics: Exploring numbers, shapes, and patterns through practical activities that promote problem-solving and curiosity.
- Understanding the World: Inspiring awe and curiosity about people, cultures, nature, and technology through hands-on discovery and themed projects.
- Expressive Arts and Design: Encouraging creativity through art, music, movement, and imaginative play, enabling children to explore and express ideas.
Our experienced practitioners plan activities carefully to ensure each child progresses at their own pace, with regular observations and assessments to celebrate achievements and identify next steps. We value partnership with families, working closely together to share insights and support each child’s learning journey.
Through our holistic approach, we aim to inspire confident, curious, and happy learners, equipping them with the skills and enthusiasm to thrive as they transition to primary school and beyond.
